Julia Hanshaw is a board‑certified Adult‑Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in women’s midlife health. A graduate of Kent State University, she has spent her career in acute, conventional medicine, where she witnessed a persistent gap in care: a system focused on reacting to chronic illness rather than preventing it. Seeing women live longer but with declining health span shaped her commitment to a more proactive, root‑cause approach.

Her professional focus deepened when she experienced her own midlife shifts while balancing work and motherhood. Feeling “not quite herself” gave her firsthand insight into how confusing and isolating this stage can be—especially when concerns are dismissed or attributed to aging. This perspective strengthened her dedication to ensuring women feel heard, validated, and supported.

Motivated by both clinical experience and lived insight, Julia pursued extensive independent study in perimenopause and menopause. She discovered how much essential knowledge is missing from conventional training, fueling her mission to empower women with evidence‑based guidance, personalized care, and the tools needed to move confidently into their next chapter.

Renewed Roots exists to support women through the midlife transition—a window of opportunity that shapes long‑term health. Julia believes women deserve informed guidance, proactive support, and a collaborative space to reconnect with the most grounded, vibrant version of themselves. Through attentive listening and personalized planning, she helps women make decisions aligned with their values, goals, and vision for healthy aging.
